NDIS Plan Options Comparison

We’ve put together a quick overview of the three different ways you can manage your NDIS funding and the types of supports available with each option. There are three options for managing your plan funding:
- Externally Managed: A plan manager handles all claims and pays your service providers for you, making the process easier and less stressful.
- Personally Managed: I take responsibility for claiming funds from my NDIS plan and paying providers directly. This can also be done by my nominee or child representative.
- Managed by NDIA: Providers are paid directly by the NDIA from my NDIS funding. When my supports are managed this way, I can only use providers who are registered with the NDIS.
Types
Available Support Options
Specified Supports
Stated supports must always be used as listed in your plan and can’t be swapped for other services.
Pre-Arranged Help
In-kind supports must be used with the pre-paid provider. Concerns can be raised with the NDIS.
You'll Need a Quote
If a support is marked ‘quote required’, a quote or report is needed. Once approved, funds added.
